Happy New Year and greetings from China!
I’m writing from Shenzhen, China while visiting my family — and spending precious time with my 91-year-old mom.
Do you ever feel like time is moving faster than you’d like, and the moments that truly matter slip by too easily? I feel that too.
I’ve always loved Maya Angelou’s words: “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”
For me, this points to the small, ordinary moments — not big achievements.
One of my intentions for 2026 is about “memorable moments," and I found myself in search of a verb. I tried several:
Create? Cherish? Notice?
Each one felt partially right… and somehow incomplete.
Then it landed: what I really want is to live more memorable moments - to feel fully alive.
To be present enough to notice them; grateful enough to cherish them; and intentional enough to create space for them… without constantly adding “more” to my life.
That feels true.
So my intention for 2026 is to live more memorable moments - while honoring the idea of "less is more."
How about you?
What feels meaningful enough for you to lean toward this year?
And what might help you live your memorable moments - and feel fully alive?
May 2026 be filled with meaning and aliveness for you!
